Combo 1 (ages 3 & 4):
- 45 minute class with 3 subjects: Tap, Ballet &Tumbling
- Dresscode: black tap shoes, pink ballet shoes, and a leotard of choice
- Curriculum:
- Basic understanding of beginner tap steps and ballet positions
- Learning the left & right
- Safely learning basic tumbling such as cartwheels and summersaults
- Focus on participation in class, ability to stand in line and pay attention.
Combo 2 (ages 4 & 5):
- 45 minute class with 3 subjects: Tap, Ballet &Tumbling
- Dresscode: Black tap shoes, pink ballet shoes and a leotard
- Curriculum: T
- Build on the steps learned in the Combo 1 class and will progress much quicker
- More attention will be placed on the proper use of the right & left feet and directional change
- Tap & ballet steps will be intensified
- Tumbling will include double summersaults and one-handed cartwheels
- Encouragement to stay focused longer with total class participation
Combo 3 (ages 5-7):
- 45 minute class with 3 subjects: Tap, Ballet & Jazz
- Dresscode: Black tap shoes, pink ballet shoes, and a light tennis shoe. Black jazz shoes may be needed for the show at the end of the season.
- Curriculum:
- A generalized understanding and execution of all 3 subjects
- Focus will be put on directional change, placement and surroundings in relationship to other dancers nearby
- Learn formations & how to move to specific places during a routine
- Expected to count, know when to move and where to move on their own
- All of this is preparation to move into a single subject class for the following season.
Please keep in mind that each student will progress at his/her own pace.
Some 6 and 7 year olds may be ready for a single subject class.
Single Subject Tap or Jazz (ages 7 and up):
--There are 3 levels of Tap and 3 levels of Jazz.
Recommendations will be made if we feel the student needs to be placed in a different class level once classes have begun and we are able to assess the student's abilities.
